Your Body, the Holy Spirit's Temple: A Journey in Stewardship
Your body is a temple. It’s the vessel where THE HOLY SPIRIT resides. Are you stewarding it well?
Today was my first day back in the gym after a long while. I wasn’t stewarding well over my temple in this respect. While going to the gym may not be necessary for everyone, I know that for me to see the results I desire, lifting weights and being intentional about moving my body daily is key.
Growing up, I was an athlete with a naturally toned, muscular build. Over the years, as I became less active, I noticed changes in my body. I knew that because I wasn’t as active as I used to be, I needed to get back into the gym, but I didn’t make the time for it. Even though I knew my body builds muscle quickly and that the results would come fast, I kept putting it off.
I told myself my schedule was too busy, that I didn’t have the energy. But even if it was just 30 minutes, once a week, I could have made it happen. I know what my body looked like before, and I know what it could look like, if I just put in the effort. Because I didn’t, I found myself feeling less confident about an area of my body.
So, if there's something you know you need to do—whether it's for your health, your spirit, or your purpose—please do it.
GOD calls us to be good stewards, and that includes how we care for our physical bodies. Every aspect of you matters to HIM.
It may look like making time in your schedule, waking up a little earlier, using a free day, or finding an accountability partner. Whatever it is, don’t let excuses hold you back. I understand how overwhelming life can get, and how it feels like there’s not enough time or energy to do it all. So, do what THE LORD leads and listen and obey in that moment. Our steps can lead to meaningful change.
Stewardship is a privilege and honor. Let's honor THE LORD!
HOLY SPIRIT led.
Love,
